November 28-30, 2014 2nd Annual Farm and Flea at Hudson’s Basilica

Last year was the first Farm and Flea Event and I, a native of Columbia County who loves and appreciates the uncommon and artistic venues that go on here, consider this one the best of the batch. There is great music, food, decor, location ( right near the river and away from downtown Hudson Hubub) a truly unique collection of shopkeepers, outdoor fires to keep you warm, enthusiastic young and old folk everywhere. Don’t miss it! Plan your weekend around it!
Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School’s 37th annual Yuletide Fair
December 6, 2014
This Family event, another wonderfully imaginative and UNCOMMERCIAL shopping op for handmade, homemade items, especially for children, is a wonderful country venue to mark the beginning of the holiday season.

Annual Winter Celebration at Lindenwald on December 6
The annual Winter Celebration at Lindenwald will take place Saturday afternoon December 6 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Guests will be able to enjoy the winter season and recognize Martin Van Buren’s birthday at the same time. Van Buren was born December 5, 1782. The historic site will be getting dressed up for the occasion with the help of the talented members of the Kinderhook Garden Club. The popular event was moved to Saturday afternoon last year so visitors can better see the decorations that festoon the mansion. Also the earlier hours avoid conflicting with Winter Walk in Hudson that evening.
Winter Walk
Hudson’s liveliest, largest, and most colorful event of the year!
December 6, 2014, 5–8 pm | Snow date: December 13, 2014
Every year, Hudson’s mile-long Warren Street is transformed into a festive boulevard with twinkling lights, brightly decorated shops, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, live reindeer, horse-drawn wagons, carolers, and a legion of characters and performers.
The event beings at 5pm with the carillon bells of the First Presbyterian Church marking the start of the Santa Parade that transports Mr. & Mrs. Claus from the Hudson Opera House to City Hall (520 Warren Street), where free books are distributed to children all evening.
